MARK S. WILLIAMS

Shelton F. "Mark" Williams is a fourth-generation Montanan and third-generation Montana lawyer. He was raised in Missoula and graduated from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont, in 1987. Prior to entering law school, Mark worked for two years in New York's financial district as a commercial banker. In 1989, Mr. Williams returned to Montana. He attended the University of Montana School of Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Montana Law Review and was elected Graduate of the Year by the legal fraternity Phi Delta Phi. He received his J.D. degree with honors in 1992.

Following law school Mark served as a judicial clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, based in Denver. He then returned to Missoula to practice law. His practice includes civil trials and appeals, insurance coverage issues, medical malpractice cases and commercial litigation.

Mark has served as a part time Adjunct Professor of Insurance Law at the University of Montana School of Law. He serves on the boards of the Montana Justice Foundation and the Montana Defense Trial Lawyers. Mark is married with three boys and enjoys skiing, ski racing, mountain biking, and backpacking.
